the expiry date set is actually for unopenned bottles because the openned ones can turn nasty for other reasons. expiration does not only consider taste, it is all about chemical decomposition, ph balance and other concerns

The expiration date could be observed for a particular volume. No, your Cream gained't expire the precise day, it is going to how ever, get chunky and scent undesirable. At this aspect you ought to throw it away of you've a good threat of food poisoning.

In most cases, yes, it's O.K., but do you know where it's been? Has it been in someone's backyard lying in the sun for 3 years? Has it been fished up from the bottom of the local sewage pond?

I'd say if it's just been in a cupboard or somewhere like that, it should be good for a year or so after expiration.

I have personaly done some testing. I have kept a bottle, opened, 2 years after experation date. No one got sick after drinking it, tasted the same.
Also set some outside in the hot Texas sun for a few days and no one got sick from it either.
It is my assumption that your bottle should be just fine.

Most likely. As long as it was kept in a cool area it should be okay. It didn't expire that long ago. Just taste it and if it tastes funny don't drink it.

It should be okay. Smell it, taste it. The alcohol in it would act as a pretty good preservative. Just know that you cannot take it back to a store for being "off".
Enjoy!

Whatever carries an expiration date can expire. They wouldn't bother putting one on there if they didn't need to.

Yes, shake it up and drink it!
Why are you letting a bottle sit for that long anyway?

Yes. The test is in the sniffing when you open it. If it smells like something died in there, pour it down the toilet.
