A positive diagnosis is usually only made if the person has experienced six of the above symptoms for at least three months. Symptoms must appear consistently in varied environments (e.g., not only at home or only at school) and interfere with function.

Children who grow up with ADHD often continue to have symptoms as they grow into adulthood. Adults face some of their greatest challenges in the areas of self-control and self-motivation, as well as executive functioning, usually having more symptoms of inattention and fewer of hyperactivity or impulsiveness than children do.[10]

One of the difficulties in diagnosis is the incidence of co-morbid conditions, especially the presence of bipolar disorder which is being reported at earlier ages than previously described.[11] Learning disorders are more common when there are innattention symptoms.[12]

I do the same thing, mostly because the conversations often don't hold my interest. There are many boring, repetitive poeple out there. If a conversation is important or interesting, I focus 100%. I daydream a lot, too, which I chalk up to having a lot of stuff going on in my head; there's an awful lot of stuff to think about all the time. The only problem with it is that sometimes it is hard to shut it off to go to sleep.

One question tho? Do you finally end up unable to sit down down nevertheless on your seat? Do you experience such as you will desire to continuously keep shifting such as you're going a hundred miles an hour? Are you very skinny? those additionally are indicators of ADHD. maximum folk (little ones quite) with ADHD are very skinny and wirey. See a doctor to confirm if that's what you have. medicine will in all probability help and your grades will arise. good success.

It sounds like symptoms of ADD (attention deficit disorder), however, please don't let anyone diagnose you over the internet! Please find out from your health insurance (if you have it) where they will pay or partially pay for your mental health services. Ask if you need a referral from your family dr or not, and try to make an appointment with either a clinical psychologist, licensed/clinical social worker (LCSW) or psychiatrist (medical dr who works with mental disorders). Those three professionals should be able to give an official diagnosis, and of course the psychiatrist is the one to prescribe medication, if needed. (Technically a family dr can prescribe the meds, but the psychiatrists are much better trained and experienced in mental health treatment meds.)

don't listen to these nuts. I do the same thing and I am a technical oriented person, I don't have schizophrenia or adhd. what kind of doc makes a diagnosis after 4 lines of text on a random question. a nut does. my mind is usally thinking about something else and if I divert my attention from it, I may not recall what I was thinking about. so I don't give them my undivided attention. some of us don't multitask in our mind as well as others do. some of these people will have you on pills the rest of your life in which you can only get through them,

Maybe you are male. When my wife tells about her day at work, she goes into great length, and I love her, but I just can't pay attention for that long. Every once in a while I say, "Really? Why do you say that?" or "Yeah, I see what you mean." just so it sounds like I'm listening.

As long as you can concentrate enough to do whatever kind of work you have to do, I wouldn't worry about it.

PS; look out for the guy calling himself "PhD."

I am a trained Psychiatrist.

From what you describe, I have a pretty good idea that what you are suffering from is ADHD, Schizophrenia and possibly Bipolar II.

You have a chemical imbalance that needs to be corrected. You have elevated seratonin and dopamine levels. That is what is making you act this way.

You need to see a psychiatrist immediatly. Ask him to put you on Respiridone and Lithium.
Once you are properly diagnosed you need to inform the motor vehicle branch and let them know that you are potentialy a dangerous driver because of a mental illness.

Trust me... I have been doing this for 25 years. I know schizophrenia when I see schizophrenia and I am sorry to say.... you have it!

You may need to spend a few weeks in a mental hospital. You will get the proper medications there.
Once you are treated, you will find that your life will improve drastically.
