I am totally broke and I only have a choice between chinese food (sesame chicken) or some eggs. I am battling a very slight slight fever. Nothing huge. But I had chinese last night and I woke up feeling sick. I feel like the chinese did it or at least everytime I think of chinese food I grow naseaus at the thought. But I heard dairy will make a person more feverish if they consume dairy. Is this true? Or does it only apply to milk?

Eggs are protein and protein is good for anyone who is ill. Don't load them up with lots of margarine and salt, though. Eggs are easy to digest, too, which makes them better than Chinese food in this case.

Eggs aren't dairy, hon.

The food that you eat has NO relation to your fever. Eat what you feel able to eat (for example, if you feel like you are going to throw up, use good sense and eat some broth and jello, not spicy or greasy food!!!) Fevers consume calories and water, so keep yourself hydrated with water or gatorade and eat what you feel up to eating. Eggs are fine, just don't make them greasy fried. Dairy also does not make a person more feverish. The fat in dairy might make you nauseated, though, and if you are coughing it might make you have more phlegm. That is why they say "clear liquids" like you can see through (apple juice, sprite, water) when you feel sick to your stomach.

Eggs are fine, just don't drink any milk or eat cheese or anything like that until your fever breaks. It is not that the milk makes you feel more feverish, it can actually spoil in your stomach you make you throw up if you are running a fever. I hope you feel better soon!

It's ok to eat the eggs but you might want to hold off as long as possible until stomach settles.

Any way for you to get Ginger Ale and crackers? They would be your best choice and are not too expensive. If you have any spare change, maybe you could buy a small can of the Ginger Ale.

you can have eggs! I don't think you get a higher fever from dairy. I think it just increases mucus. I eat or drink whatever I can tolerate when I am sick and have little appetite. something is better than nothing.

Eat the eggs, they won't make you worse. Some dairy products can produce phlegm, but not eggs.

why don't you take medicine for your fever first before you eat any chicken or egg?
