Okay, so I started a fitness and diet program. I know that 3,500 = 1lb of fat. This is where I am confused.

I know exercise burns calories. But when they say you have to drop 3500 calroies for 1 lbs of fat, is that based off the calroies you were eating BEFORE starting a diet or is it based off the calories you are now consuming? Because right now I am at 1200 calories a day. And exercising doing cardio 6 days a week.
So does this mean I need to burn 3500 calories during the week at my work outs in order to drop 1 lb a week?

Can someone help clear this up for me?
Thanks

Yes you do need to burn 3500 calories and quit eating sugars, fried foods, etc. to lose 1 pound. Your output (exercise) needs to be more than your input(foods). You will be surprised how much food you don't need!

Actually it takes more than 3500 cal. to burn 1 lbs of fat. 3500=1lbs if you want to GAIN wait, but because fat is different from other tissues in our body it takes more work. Fat cells need less calories to maintain their "proportions" and they have a slower metabolic rate. BUT everyhting you are doing is very good, so jst dont quit and the weight will come off, don't confuse yourself with numbers. Our bodies are not that simple.
