After applying thousands of gallons or paint and knowing a WEEEE bit about design and decorating, I have to say you may not get any wrong answers here. It has to do with personal preference in large measure. I do Dark low. It seems that the Scarlett would be that Bottom, even if the floor is gray.

In your case however,,,with no real offense it really isn't about aesthetics.

In a living room for example,,,that may have a chair rail, the lighter color on top allows the eye to view the room as larger as the lighter color meets the ceiling, while the darker color anchors the walls to the floor, and in that case hopefully coordinates with carpet, etc. IN your case that isn't the case.

I'll assume, that there may even be a third color in OS like a trim or piping in uniforms that might be used to break the two main colors in a molding. As I suggested and assume it's a "PLAY ROOM" hence .... hopefully when a game is on, NO ONE will be critiquing your choices for decorating. Smiles.

scarlett is a great red color. itll keep you energized while you exercise. i think having grey floor mats is a wonderful idea so have the grey on the top and red on the bottom. keep the pattern of the room: grey [floor] - red bottom border - then the ohio state border - then the grey. good luck.

you should use a ordinary brown colour, you do not desire your furniture to bend in with the wall by technique of going darkish and heavy. do not imagine you'll need darkish walls in reality you are able to truly flow with any colour, particularly relies upon on the way you tighty up your position. in case you want to take a threat with something diverse attempt a grey colour wall and that i'm no longer particular what the appartment sounds like besides the undeniable fact that it seems truly marvelous with white molding and marvelous flowy kurtons, splash in some white/ blue/ and orange accents. each now and then making ambitious strikes are the perfect judgements. in case your no longer particular you are able to continuously pattern and caricature out layouts and stuff regardless of the truth that if it truly is a crappy caricature it grant you with an theory.play round with the layouts and stuff it helps! have self belief me. the living house i'm residing in has "warm chocolate" colored walls (by technique of decision) and our furniture is ordinary brown/tan and that i have added accents of darkish woods. white molding, white/blues and silvers round and it particularly bends superbly. obviously I nonetheless have alot to do besides the undeniable fact that it begins a touch at a time. reliable luck on your determination of paint. :)) xo, aly

Yes, I'd put the darker color on the bottom of the wall. It'll look more balanced, or grounded.

Traditionally you would go darker on the bottom, it'll make the room look more spacious (think of a landscape portrait). However, ultimately you have to live with it, so go with whichever you feel more comfortable with.

normally at the bottom as an accent color. i assume your border will only be about 3 to 3.5 feet from the floor.

typically the darker paint would go on the bottom, but whatever you think looks nice.
