Quinine is a medication used to treat malaria. If you do not have this illness, then taking quinine is ill advised.

Tonic water does contain small amounts of quinine, but you would have to drink so much of the tonic water that the water itself would be hazardous.

Just the opposite is true.
Instead of coke, drink tonic water, preferably diet tonic water. It is one and the same.
