No. All the vets I've had dealngs with advise Pepto for diarrhea and a tummy ache. But check with the vet to know how much to give your pooch.

NO, Not at all. Our vet reccomends it a lot when our dogs have upset stomach or diahhreah... also mix some rice in with your dogs food if she/her is experiencing any of those problems! It works like a charm, every time!

RECIPE for early onset diarrhea:

Pepto Bismol every 3 - 4 hours.
liquid pink Pepto 1/2 to a tsp each time, for every 10lbs of dog
OR
1 pill for larger dogs
1/2 for smaller dogs

they actualy have pepto-bismo for animals, though it is called kao peptate. Used to treat diarrhea. It could possibly be toxic if they drank a couple bottles of it. A side affect though could be severe constipation, but for itself, it is relatively harmless.

No it is not. I have a medical book for dogs home remedies and first aid and it says that dogs can take it. I've given it to many dogs over the years. I have also learned that the pill form is easier to give than the liquid.

It is if it has acetaminophen in it. Check all the ingredients to make sure all it says is bismuth subsalicylate. BTW, since it is related to aspirin, it is NOT safe for cats. If you are having a major problem, call your vet, but many vets WILL recommend a little pepto for mild vomiting or diarrhea.
