Americans love convinience. Most conviniently prepared foods are fastfoods which generally have high fat content. The problem is people eat the fastfood just about every day, but, they never exercise and end up becoming obese.

American lifestyle is all about convinience and getting things fast and quickly. Why read a book, when you can get the audio/mp3 version or you could rent the movie?

fat food is cheaper than salads, fruits and other healthy items...I have already investigated this. It is not fair. Also, I can only speak for myself but I am addicted to reading books. Most people are in to tv and video games which leaves no time to sit down and indulge in a good book.

I like fat food and I read books, so do many others. You have no facts to back up your claim.
