Look at your deit and lifestyle. Not to blame you, but kids take after their parents. Are you eating fruits and veggies or potato chips? Are you watching endless hours of TV or going for a bike ride?

How to help your child? Easy - be an example. If you are already eating right and exercising, suggest her to do the same. Offer some one on one time and go for a walk, swim, shoot hoops, play catch, anything that involes more than sitting around (even going shopping). Dont buy too many sweets, kids eat what they can find - if they dont have sweets in the house, they wont eat them (at home anyway). Have plenty of healthy foods around (especially if you know what they like), and cook well-balanced meals.

Is your 11 year old, male or female? Tall? Short? Regardless, if you have an overweight child who gets to be a bit unruly if they don't get to eat, then start your child on a low carb diet. I've been preaching it all day and I promise you, it works. I'm an ex-kickboxer who is 48 years old, 6 ft. tall, 185 lbs. and in great health. I speak from the heart when I preach low carb foods as well as exercise. Go for walks with your child. Increase the distance each week. I don't know your finances, but consider getting a used-treadmill.

Well realize it's child abuse when you overfeed your child.

Stop spoiling her with McDonalds. If you love her you'll let her live and stop clogging her arteries.
Take away her lunch card and pack her lunches.
I suggest whole wheat bread sandwiches with turkey/chicken meat, lettuce, ABSOLUTELY NO mayo, butter, cheese.
Then Give her a water bottle to take to school, and either a bag of grapes/strawberries, banana, mango, apple.

Get her in a karate club/dance club before it's too late. Go POWER walking .. or even better yet, BIKING with her before dinner to boost metabolism.
Tell her that being fat is not good and it will lead to serious problems and rudeness from jerk kids at school.

It all depends on her body structure, please dont be telling her shes fat,or she needs to loose weight, things like that will stick with a kid untill adulthood.Ask her doctor if she is overweight, and go from there,go for walks with her,or bike rides.btw-there is nothing wrong with a little extra pounds!

It depends on how tall your child is. Maybe you could try to get involved by walking, riding bikes, etc... and try healthy foods at home. I know how hard it is, I have a 10 yr old who thinks she is fat, I just try to do more with her. good luck
