It's a "kitty kiss" - he loves you. :) (Doesn't make the being woken up any more pleasant, unfortunately. But maybe it'll make you at least somewhat happier now that you know it's a sign of affection. :) )

Cats can sence that some thing is wrong. Some times during the night when every one breaths in and out, you might stop breating for a second or two. The cat will come up and give you a kisss that makes you wake up and start breathing normally again.

I have had a friend who didn't know she had a breathing problem. She had a cat and a dog that would wake her up at night. She finally called her doctor with some coaching from me. She was obese and she found out the problem. As soon as she started to loose some weight, her condition got better. She is now still alive thanks to the cat and dog.

It also tells you that she or he really loves you.

I sleep naked always have done, imagine what i have to put up with,a main coon two siamese my wife, my border collie also slept with us untill she got to hot and plonked herself on the top of the bed,
but I would not have it any other way, I have to live in egypt now because of health reasons, and I miss not having my pets, so no more complaints please, just think how lucky you are having so much undemanding love,
