I have had an ear infection for over a week now. 5 days ago it hurt so bad that my face and neck started hurting around it. So I went to the ER. She said it was one of the worst she has ever seen. So she gave me an antibiotic and a pain shot. well the antibiotic is gone now. My ear no longer hurts, but it still feels weird and I can't really hear out of it and it sounds like I am echoing every time I talk. I have tried the antibiotics, ear drops, sweet oil, hot compresses, what else can I do? this is so annoying.

Tubes put in your ears to help with drainage just like they have for children, my brother had them. Also, you are on Z-Pac (zythromyosin) I assume which is a 5 day treatment. It is a strong antibiotic, so I do think tubes might be your best option.

It's not uncommon at all. The antibiotics get the infection under control so the pain is relieved. Now your ears are full of junk and it will take some time to get it out. There is a technique to help with it my doctor gave me. It's called autoinsufflation. You pinch your nose closed with your fingers then GENTLY blow while closing your lips closed so no air escapes. This forces the junk in your ears to move a bit and makes your eustachian tubes flex a bit helping your ears to clear. You may need to do this for a while to get it cleared. Don't overdo it all at once just a few times a day and remember to blow gently.

Did you take all of your antibiotics? You should have been on them for 7-10 days. And even then it takes like a week after that to heal. I had one and had to go to LA thru the mountains hurt like the devil!

the more serious issue about treating red eye is reinfectation. it may spread so actual. be particular to bathe your pillow case, and regulate it each evening, your wash fabric and something else it truly is presented in contact along with your eye could be both bleached or washed in very very warm water. Use the drops as directed, and attempt to save your hands remote out of your face. Wash your fingers continually. There truly is not any treatment, except for the drops, so making particular you do not reinfect is how you'll flow.

You might just have to wait it out. If it doesn't go away in a few days then go to the doctor - a ENT doc (ear, nose, and throat), they specialize in dealing with problems like ear infections.
