First off, the small dots at the end of your hair is the root and it is normal to have hair fall out. Alot of people have it fall out it is just more noticeable with your long and thick hair.

Couple of things you might want to try is:

Only wash the roots/scalp of your hair, not the length. The soap running through it when you rinse should be enough to clean it.

Condition the length of you hair when you shower. If you don't wash it, then only use a pea size amount but still condition the length (the water can dry it out)

When you get out, don't towel dry to much, it just tangles it more.

Use a detangle solution/spray, then start combing (always with a wide tooth comb) starting at about 2 inches from the bottom then slowly make your way to the top.

Never EVER start combing at the top, as you will just cause more tangles which will pull and break your hair as you try to get them out.

Never EVER take a brush to wet hair. It will pull and break your hair.

If you start loosing hair in patches or big noticeable clumps, get an appointment with a doctor.

Good luck!!!!!!!!!

Losing hair especially in the shower is normal. I have really thin, fine hair and i still lose hair in the shower. Try not to let your hair get so knotted. Maybe try using a better conditioner or detangler. See if that helps at all.

If you still seem to be losing a lot of hair. I would talk to your parents and maybe go see a doctor.

Has your hair been knotted more than usual the past 2 days? Because if it has, you put more stress on your hair trying to get it untangled. So, just try to avoid all the knotting, and see how it goes on from there.

If you still see hair loss and you can actually notice it by looking at your hair, then i would def. go see adoctor. But if you only know that you are losing hair because you see it come out in the shower, it may not be such a big deal..

Good Luck!
Just keep an eye on it, its probably not a big deal!

The white at the end of your hair is from damaged/split ends. This means you should get about an inch trimmed off to clear those up. Using a softer brush will help with those in the future too.
Hair falls out all of the time. You should worry if it is in clumps or more than about ten strands at a time. You will notice more hair loss in the shower because you are washing it and playing with it. I wouldn't worry too much, I was afraid of that too when I was younger and I too have very thick hair.

Check with and adult or a doctor if you have doubts

It's normal to lose up to 200 strands of hair every day - and when your hair is long, that can seem like a hell of a lot! The white bits at the end of a shed hair just means that it fell out naturally rather than breaking.

Give your hair a good brushing before you take a shower, that will get rid of a lot of shed hair, so it doesn't tangle with the rest of your hair when you get it wet.

Unless the thickness of your ponytail is getting drastically thinner, or you can see bare patches on your scalp, you don't need to worry.

the 'thingys' at the end of the strand is just split ends. get a little trim and you'll be fine (:

every 7 years our hair goes through a cycle and sometimes can change quite drastically. i had much more hair on my head when i was 14 than i do now. not to mention, it's normal for humans to shed up to even 300 hairs every day. it's amazing we're all not bald! so, unless you're losing patches and you notice spotting on your scalp, you're probably just fine.

the only thing to worry about is if you've changed your diet lately/haven't been eating properly. lack of nutrients and vitamins can greatly effect our hair, even our eyelashes. it sounds like you're just a normal girl to me, though.

It's normal to lose some strands of hair. If you are losing hair at a faster rate than you are growing it, there could be 3 reasons.

1) Poor nutrition--especially if you're anorexic.
2) Genetic component--if your family has a history of conditions like alopecia.
3) Major stress--stressful life events e.g going thru hurricane Katrina, losing a loved one, death in the family etc.

Otherwise, if you are still worried, you can visit a dermatologist and rest your mind at ease.

No worries. Humans shed just like other animals do. You'll begin to go through phases where quite a bit of hair comes out at a time. If you were balding you would be losing huge giant clumps and it would be insanely obvious, even to other people. Your 14. you'll be fine :)

Nothing to worry about. I heard some where that is is common for people to shead about 80 strands of hair. I mean come on, you know hair strands are contstantly growing and developing. I don't think you want to keep them all!

Don't worry about it I had the same thing happen when I was a teen. I'm MUCH older now and still have plenty of hair. You might want to try a different shampoo, just in case.
