It's great u r seeing a doctor about this issue.
Yes, take the B12 shot. It's used ALL THE TIME for most everything.
I m on "Phentermine"... it works to control the appetite and jumpstart your metabolism. You will lose weight if you exercise also.
You just have to watch for heart problems.
You will notice you will not desire fatty, greasy foods.

All the best!

I have pernicious anemia aka a Vitamin B-12 problem finally found by the 8th DR I went to I have done weekly shots for over 3 years)

I dunno where you found that B-12 was for an appetite supression

B-12 is part of 3 vitamins that make up the intrinsic factor (Folic Acid and B-6 are the other 2) This affects blood flow and nerve endings, B6 aids in digestion but excess can give you chest pain

Just BTDT

If you have a normal blood level of B12, getting the shots is voodoo, doesn't help. Lots of doctors give these shots, but it is not going to help. If your doctor gives you the shots without checking your blood B12 level, it is just quackery and a placebo effect.
Appetite suppressants may help but they are only to get you started, like a little boost to get through the first two weeks of a diet plan. They do NOT work in the long term, and may cause a racing heart beat. I never recommend these drugs, only give them when people beg for them.
Anti-depression drug might work, like zoloft. This is especially true if you are a "compulsive" eater, because compulsive disorder is helped by anti-depression drugs.
The drug to prevent fat absorption can help, just be careful to take vitamins at a different time as the fat blocker, because it can also keep you from absorbing vitamins. Also, fat blockers are NOT a substitute for diet, you still have to eat low fat food. This drug just gives you a little edge.
Hypnosis might help, psychotherapy might help.
Good luck, stay healthy.

as far as i know, B12 are needed for nerve health and its inner lining, the myelin sheath maintainence so nerve impulses can flow normally which leads to good energy for exercising.
