There are several factors that may cause bruxism; anxiety, tension, stress, malocclusion are just a few reasons thought to be the cause of this disorder. A professionally made "night guard" will help reduce the jaw pain and excessive wear of the teeth that is associated with this dental problem. For more information on this check this site.

It is usually stress. You can ask your dentist to make you an oclusal guard (some insurances cover them) and it will help to not destroy your teeth.
