I'm aware there is some grace period on new vehicles in which I can drive the vehicle before reporting that I have purchased it and will be driving it under my policy, in which the liability coverage is in effect. Right? If so, how long...

State is Colorado

Most insurance companies will cover any vehicle you purchase under your existing contract for up to 30 days. But they will back-charge you for the month if you wait that long and are adding it as a second vehicle to your policy.

If you have a temp tag on it, you have until it expires to get it registered and everything taken care of. Generally, you want to do it as fast as possible. If no temp tag, then you need to register it ASAP.

It depends on the edition date of your auto policy. The 06/98 auto policy says it will give you 14 days for the same coverage, 3 days if you are adding comp & collision. Best to call right away.

There is no grace period. Don't drive uninsured.
