An adolescent is a young adult not yet matured to a grown adult. Usually refers to puberty time period. Can also refer to someone who acts imature.

An 'adolescent' is another word for a 'teenager', or perhaps more particularly, a person or other animal which is past childhood but not yet fully mature.

to me an adolescent could be in many different stages.. U can be 40 and act like an adolescent.. or ur at that age when ur niave and silly and havent found yourself yet.. like when ur 12 or 13. I find that age should bring maturity.. but sometimes it never happens...
