I don't have any kids...I don't think very many animals are capable of being left alone with children....Once again, if you don't have common sense, please refrain from answering my questions

First I would like to say some of these answers are really stupid.
It is to bad that pit bulls have such a bad name. Pit Bulls are the hardest dog to make mean, but there are a lot of sick people who do it. They are a high energy dog. They should be kennel trained and not left for long periods of time. It depends on dogs age and how long you have had the dog, They need security a schedule they can depend on. Make sure if possible to take them out for a run when you get home they need excercise to and time to have fun. Always be gentle with it and never aggressive. Get a guide on kennel training never just put a dog in a kennel and leave this will create unwanted behavior and anxiety in your dog. Once your dog gets to know your schedule and can count on regular excercise, love, and attention you should develope a happy relationship with him. Good Luck!!

If your pit is house broken, they should be able to hold it 1 hour per month of age. I am not sure how they calculate after 1 yr. though. My female pit has been staying inside since she had puppies 2 weeks ago and there are times when she will go every 3-4 hrs, but then wait another 10-12 hrs. She sits and barks at the door until I let her out. It really depends on I guess how much food and water the dog has.

As long as you need to, my dogs are happy staying at home by themselves well we're gone. I have a Pit Bull, a Pit Bull cross, a Staffie and a Boxer along with two fostered Doberman Pinscers.

Some people are really stupid. Honestly, Pit Bulls don't enjoy killing nor do they have it in their blood to kill. Obviously you guys no nothing about the breed so just shut the hell up.

I think it depends on the age and disposition of the dog.

Some dogs will curl up and sleep while you're gone, and others will tear the place up. Some dogs can 'hold it' for hours, and some need to go out more often.

Try leaving your dog for short periods of time--maybe start in 15 minute increments--and see what happens.

I would not leave any dog in the house alone unless he/she could use the bathroom within a reasonable time. Plus, they need food and water. Plus, if the dog is not trained the animal could tear up the furniture etc. There are many variables.

We have a pitbull, and she is kenneled when we are not home. I have left her in the kennel up to 10 hours. Not a regular habit, buit she was okay. I probably should note that she is kenneled because she likes to tear things up. She will get into my son's toy box and take toys out until she finds the one she wants. Then proceeds to tear the heck out of it. She is one yr old. We still hope that one day she can be left out, and be a good girl.

WHy would you own one and then even if you own it, keep it indoors. Where is your common sense.

How long can you leave it indoors ? Well dont give it a whole lot of food and water, just enough till you get home then feed it before taking it out around 12 hours. Leave a whole lot of food and water be expecting to pu when you get home off the floors or wherever you leave him

Definitley not. Not with children or by itself. I think that pitbulls will eventually kill somone (or something: they are known to destroy furniture too) if it's alone to long. They are really dangerous dogs. If your neighbors have dogs, or kids walk by the street alot, don't keep it outside. Once somones pitbull dragged another dog through a small hole it the fence and killed it. If you don't have a pitbull don't get one.
