I know I should try to find positive people. But it actually helps to make me feel better because they understand what I'm going through. My best friend is depressed, among other things, but we talk about everything. We have a lot of good laughs. I'm just looking for people to talk to. My group of friends has depleted a lot.

If you want to send me an email we can chat. i'm not the most depressed person but i've had more than my fair share of crap, and many people find me a good listener.

And i don't think its weird, when i'm feeling depressed the thing i do is listen to depressing music, makes me feel calmer. Maybe chat soon then.

If you have been depressed and you seem to recognize that
you are, seek professional help. You may need medication to
balance out chemicals in your brain. Do you remember when
you were last happy? If so that is encouraging. See if you can
repeat that event if it's a safe one. Giddy people are not necessarily happy, and some people laugh away pain. So
just because your associates laugh with you doesn't mean
they are truly happy.
There truly is more happiness in giving than in receiving
so think about joining a well deserved non-profit group
that helps out those less fortunate. Start receiving praise
for your efforts and you'll feel a little more self esteem.
You will be with positive acting people and make worthwhile
friends. Best to you.

Personally im just sick and tired of being depressed myself and i also dont know where to turn. I think alot and when i sat alot i mean a lot. I wonder where does depression start, but obviously is different for every individual. I tired of being sad and lonely and having no friends to really talk to. But u know what if ur serious about this, call a therapist if what ur feeling sounds like what im feeling. Im going to try a therapist and hopefully see results. Because as much as i try not to feel this way i do. Anyway good luck with that.

Go to Yahoo search and input depression support . There are a lot of online resources, I believe (if you're just looking for peer-to-peer support; if you want professional help, I would advise looking for that in person).

It can't hurt to look for positive people as well. That way you have positive people who lift your spirits as well as depressed people who understand what you are going through; and you may be able to help another depressed person with some of the things you have learned from a positive person.

I think you can call a therapist and just ask for support groups around your area for depression. They could be a little awkward at first, but maybe you will make some more friends. Good luck.

Have you sought out a support group? You can probably find many online but I suggest you find one you can attend (physically) on a regular basis. The internet can be great tool for all of us (this is a great example) however, when you are feeling really down, the internet can be the loneliest place in the world.

good luck.

any sort of depression can be tide over by faith in GOD and sincere prayer.

Your prayer is from your heart. Further You must have to understood the fact that God is present in our heart. This can be realised in meditation. Further we are the creation of our own destiny. As per Hindu sacred religion, we carry all good and bad deeds life after life. There is no end unless we pray for unification of self with the divineliness.
Hence there is always a possible way to complete mergence with God in this life by a simple and wonderful meditation
