Cook anything in it that you want to give some flavor too. That could be eggs, potatoes, fried squash or mush. For those of you that don't know what mush is, it is cornmeal , flavored to taste, mixed with water or milk and let set up in refrigerator, slice it and fry. (very good, some people eat it with syrup.) But my favorite is, use it to season your green beans. You will never put green beans in a pan with some salt and heat again. Along with the bacon grease, add a little sugar and onion. But the bacon grease really makes the green beans taste like Grandma used to make.

You can use your bacon grease for fried potatoes, it's great! Also, if you like green beans...place a few droppings of your grease in the pan along with your beans and the flavor is fantastic. Myself, I also like when I'm making hamburgers. Place alittle bacon grease in the skillet before you place your meat patties and it gives the meat an extra boost in flavor. Also in your salads. Make yourself a tossed salad then pour hot bacon grease onto your salad it's a different taste and texture of course you add other ingredients in the mixture but it's great for the summer time. The name of this salad is called "wilted lettuce" you can find the recipe on the net, it's not hard to find. Good luck!

My mom used to save it in a coffee can in the refrigerator. She used it to season canned refried beans. She would add about a TBS. of grease per can and season it with garlic powder. Also she would slice yellow squash, dip it in flour and fry it in bacon grease. My dad makes fried green tomatoes by slicing the green tomato. Sprinkling it with Tony Chacheres and dipping it in corn meal. Then he fries it in bacon grease. I know it isn't good for you but I do it about once a year just because it tastes SO good!

It's wonderful to use in cornbread and many greens. I love collard greens cooked in a little bacon grease with onion and a splash of apple cider vinegar.

If used in moderation, it's no more unhealthy than any other fat or grease.

So, it is bad for your health--it is still good. lol
I put it in a jar and stor in the refrig to use later.
Fix a skillet of fried potatoes (and onions, if you like)
I fry some onion (in the bacon grease) and add all to my baked beans.
I add to green beans (plain or cooked with potatoes)
I add some to my cooked cabbage.
Soup beans (great northern) are good with bacon grease.
Lots of uses. lol

It is good to use if you fry other types of food like chicken or pork chops. You can also use it in things like cornbread. It gives alot more flavor than regular cooking oil or butter.
