There is no requirement that a company pay bonuses at all, let alone a date when they have to be paid.
If you have an employment or union contract that specifies a bonus and a date it's paid by, then that would be the rule.

No. Bonuses are free money from the employer. They often issue bonuses at Christmas time, but there is not even a guarantee that you will even receive a bonus at all.
Maybe you are thinking about a W-2. This is your wage information for the year and employers must have them postmarked by January 31 of the following year.

Why would there be? its "free" money- a reward for performance, either on your part or the part of the team...
They should be able to come at any point in the year- just depends on how and when the bonus is deserving...

No lots of companies never pay bonuses. I work for a school and my husband is a US governement employee.

Nope. Bonuses are completely optional and so they can give them when ever they want. Mine are typically a few months late so if you get yours in march consider your self lucky.
