I have a dog now bu tin a few years I will move out & I'm sure Elmo would be happier just staying with my dad. So I was just wondering what breed of dog you think would be right for me. I will have a house probably with three bedrooms, I guess I medium sized house. Atleast 5 acres , fenced yard if necessary. I will be a RN I will work 3-5 days per week. I will spend my time off with the dog. I could probably walk it twice a day if needed, once in the morning & once in teh evening. What dog would you reccomend? I like large dogs & dogs that are loyal, sweet, can be active but also like to sleep in my bed & cuddle sometimes. I'd rather to just have to brush its hair than have to get appointments at the groomers ex. Terriers. I just prefer large to medium sized dogs. I know I'm thinking a little ways into the future but I'm just brainstorming, and seeign what others think. Thanks in advance.

sounds like you have the perfect home for a big dog. My brother had a doberman. and it liked sleeping in a twin size bed with me. Head under my chin and feet down by my ankles. I would recomend a bigger bed. I had a large mutt from the pound weight 140lbs he really like to snuggle. The kids thought it was funny to get them to sit on there laps then they would start yelling because he was to heavy. he didn't are .long as they held him. think any large dog can be a snuggle bunny. You are easy to please. I think all you need to do is find the dog that picks you. You will know because they will want only you. you will click. I usually have to choose my customers or adopties to there pups as I know there persoalities, Couple of them I had to switch from what they thought they wanted with another pup, and they are so happy with me years later because there dog is perfect for them.

The SCHNOODLE!
Schnoodles are a cross between Poodle and a Schnauzer. They come in a variety of sizes ranging from large to small. I have never seen a better dog. They do require a lot of attention. You can pet and cuddle with them for hours and they still will not have enought. They are extremely loyal. Wonderful personalities!
They have a very nice coat...very little shedding. The fur does got quite long, so a trip to the groomer is necessary. Mine is always happy to go. Schnoodles love car rides.
I can't think of one thing I would change about the Schnoodle breed. Perfect dogs...at least for me :-D.

German Shepherd. They are loyal, friendly, well most of them are, unless they have been abused, or trained not to be, or not socialized. Mine just passes out on the floor next to my bed and if anything goes bump in the night, he will let me know. Also good for protection, even if he is a kind gentle dog. If a creep tryies to break in and sees a german shepherd staring at him through the window, the weirdo might just pick another house. Shepherds make really good friends.

It really depends on your living situation and how much time you want to spend with exercising, grooming etc. Purina has really helpful tool called the "Breed Selector". It asks you all sorts of questions about your different habits, what you want in a dog (size, energy level, temperment, etc) and then formulates a list of the breeds that best suits what you want in a pet.

Golden Retrievers are great dogs. They are loyal and sweet. My best friend has one (she is going to school to be a nurse) and she says that she wouldn't trade her dog for anything. Retrievers are soft and cudly, and they are a medium sized dog. Plus they are very smart and beautiful.

Sounds like a smooth collie is perfect for you. A smooth collie is a shorthaired variety of the rough collie(Lassie). Very smart, loyal, great with kids other pets.

I have a Boston Terrier and a Doberman. They are both fabulous dogs...very smart, very loyal, and not big shedders!
Plus they were both fairly easy to house train.

i think an australian kelpie. My kelpie lives inside the house but will sleep outside on warm nights and is perfectly fine being left alone for hours in the back yard. kelpies are usually used for working dogs on farms, but i think they make a fantastic friend.
