My take on this is that id we remembered everything we learned and did in all of our previous lives, we'd have little to strive for in this life. We'd have learned so much already.

And I'd probably be obsessed with researching everything in my past.

MOst people don't. There are meditation techniques that can be used to help gain access to those memories...there are other methods as well...

Because the 'you' that gets transmitted to another living being is not the 'you' you're thinking it is.

The 'you' that you are currently sensing to be you ends when you die. It is dependent on your physical body.

A better way to view rebirth is that of a billiard ball hitting another billiard ball. The energy gets transmitted, but no physical aspect (the current 'you' perception) does.

>>"The 'you' that you are currently sensing to be you ends when you die. It is dependent on your physical body."<<

this is incorrect.

"you" do not end. "you" does continue.

but part of the nature of the system is that human experience generally "works better" for most people when they do not remember their previous lives.

but *some* people *do* remember, either directly and openly, or in subtle ways.
