We had a cat who loved eating flowers--but since he was an indoor cat he could only get flowers every now and then. We never gave him half a dozen (too expensive) but he'd be allowed to eat one at least, and as the roses got old and the petals dried out, he'd get those. He also loved baby's breath, pluck those off their stems once at a time. And he'd smile as though he was aware that these were special treats just for him. His favorites were violets though. We kept 4 miniature violet plants in the bathroom window and he had be lifted up to check on "his" plants every day, when the blossoms had been around for a few days (and we got to enjoy them), I'd pluck a few off for him to eat, toss them in the bathtub where he could bat them around a little bit before chewing them well. It is a very endearing peculiarity in a cat.

Oh yes. My two cats LOVE roses. They munch on them anytime they can. I don't have them around much and when I do I put them up high. The first time they did this it was funny because they were laying around the table acting all strange like they were high from it or something. After that I locked them out of the room and they spent hours clawing at the door trying to get in!

I've seen a kitty swallow some pretty strange things. But never anything with thorns that small and pointy. Bet that hurt. Does yer kitty need some kisses to make it feel better?

if humans can eat the petals, it should be okay for cats. maybe a little indigestion, but nothing major
