ok first of all, the Davinci code is FICTION.. there is no historical evidence whatsoever that a) jesus ever existed and b) that if he did, he was married, had a baby etc...

As for the rest of your question, I don't see how it would be that big a deal if he was. It certainly doesn't change his message in any way.

Whoever said it would be bad for Mary to have been married to Jesus? That is the way things are portrayed in the book, but not what Christians want because it would prove that Jesus was human just like the rest of us-wife, child, and sins!. The DaVinci Code is not against Christianity, it is simply another point of view that makes much more sense than the religion does!! Who can really say for sure that the book was not based on some very plausible true facts that might just have actually happened? Christians believe that everything in the bible happened, don't they, and it was written by men-as was the DaVinci Code. So, who can say for sure what really went on over 2000 years ago?

for some it somewhat is because of the fact the completed tale is a rip off of yet another, much less frequently happening tale, with the comparable sort plot. others it somewhat is because of the fact DaVinci Code stressful situations the elementary concepts of christianity (ie: jesus had a blood line). different than those reasons, i'm able to in basic terms say that that's a poor action picture/e book. the two way, i'm in general guessing and judging on previous judgments on video clips that challenged elementary christian ideals and on what i heard and observed from the two sorts of the DaVinci Code.

I don't think the Da Vinci Code is against Christianity. In fact I think it was a fantastic way of bringing about a large scale interest in Christianity and making it more available to those who thought it was archaic and mystical.

And BTW the vatican announced it's recantation of the whole theory of Mary Magdalene being a sinning prostitute, and admitted it had suppressed the truth that Mary and Jesus were in fact a couple back in the 60's. HOWEVER they purposely made no fuss about it so that wasn't widespread and they looked bad.

Because the book 'the DaVinci Code' isn't true. It's purpose appears to be to confuse the truth, so people will become confused. Confusing people with lies is wrong. The form of the lie is not important, only the fact that it is a lie.

It is not against Christianity. It merely states the proof that Jesus(PBUH*) is a man and was probably married and had a child and his descendants are alive on Earth and Mary Magdalene's body was guarded by the Knights Templar.

1st of all..i'm a Christian.

i don't thnk that the idea of Jesus marrying and having a family is "against" CHristian beliefs, but i do think that it didn't happen...when Jesus died on the cross, he asked one of his disciples to care for his mother...if he were married wouldn't he have included his wife and child/ren as well?

2ndly, Jesus was manifestation of God on Earth. he led a completly pure life...he is the only person on Earth to have never sinned- not that marrying and having sex is a sin...but Jesus led a completly pure life...totally devoted to God and spreading the message of God. He came to Earth to teach about a relationship with Lord God, not religious ceromonies and sacrifises.

it doesn't, but Christianity tends to breed a "my way or the highway" approach.

While the Code was clearly a work of fiction (as opposed to the bible probably being fiction), it uses theories presented elsewhere previously.

there's only circumstancial historical evidence to support that J had a mrs and child, but then again there's only circumstancial evidence that he ever existed in the first place.

It's not. Nothing would be wrong with Jesus being married and having a child.

Just because they didn't include it in the bible does not mean that it did not happen.
