It depends on how long he has been back. In reality a reserve component soldier can choose to opt out of deployment if they have already been deployed in support of the Global War on Terrorism after 9/11.
I returned from Iraq December of 05, our battalion was transitioned into another that had not deployed. We have been alerted for deployment later this year. I chose not to opt out. I want to do what I can to bring a productive end to this. I saw alot of improvement in the country in 2005 and want to help continue that. I would hope that your husband would share the same conviction that my wife and I have and would not opt out if asked to go.
Ultimately, however, the needs of the Army will dictate.
Thank you for your support and your husband for his service. Be prepared, be flexible. Semper Gumby HOOAH

My husband was in the Guard for 23 yrs. Short answer..yes he could be deployed. Especially if he has already been home awhile. Everyone is getting the deployment shaft lately.

he needs to go and ask his command. they are the ones with that knowledge, please dont ask this kind of thing you are asking for info thats in violation to opsec its a security thing. his command will tell him when he is gonna deploy, remember loose lips sink ships its a navy motto but still fits. on thing you dont talk about or ask about is deployment schedules. the wrong people could find this and his whole unit would be in danger as well as others already there

honey that information is "classified"
the units aren't given a heads up either. They r just ordered to prepare for deployment, then they r notified after the decisions have been made. Even if the commanding officer knows ,he WILL NOT disclose the info. until ordered to do so by his superiors.

Loose lips sink ships!

Ask your husband to ask his chain of command, maybe you should be the one in the military if you have to wear the pants in the house.

Just an Observation.

When you find out from the proper channels, please don't post it here!

National Guard spouses need deployment training in OPSEC, just like active duty spouses get.

Yikes!

with the way things are going now, anything is possible, whether Bush wants to admit it or not. It is inevitable.
