I have had pain in the lower right section of my abdomen. I have seen many doctors and no one can find a cause. I have had colonoscopies, endoscopies, full GI workups, nerve blocks in my back, and back surgery. I also had my appendix removed. Any suggestions as to what could be the cause would be appreciated. Thank you

I had that for years...it must have been nerves...This is a wild card but it works. Put ground flax seed, 1 tsp on your cereal in the morning....get it at a health food store.
It will clear out your intestines and prevent any gas pockets. I kid you not. If that doesn't cure what ails you ...you might have a cystic ovary. Had that too and caused from stress.

Irritable bowel. adhesions, menstrual cramps, endometriosis, fibroids , a muscle that is being stressed due to walking in a guarded position due to all the tests, many things can cause pain that radiates in to the lower abdomenal muscles. I take aleve with food and zantac for the stomach upset it can cause. And sometimes a cold coke helps when nothing else will.Try some light stretching exercises. Nothing that causes any sharp pain or excessive pain. ask your Dr before trying any new medicines , over the counter or otherwise and before starting any new exercise . Good Luck

Have you ever been considered for endometriosis or polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS)? I am assuming you are female since your personal icon is female. I have PCOS and before I started treatment, I had almost constant pain in my right abdomen (due to many tiny cysts forming). PCOS is much different than women who have a giant cyst growing for no aparent cause. It is also different than fibroid tumors. Many women with PCOS are often first misdiagnosed with Endometriosis (where lining from uterus detaches and attaches in different parts of the body causing pain and scarring). You shoud talk to your ob/gyn about being tested for these. Do a little research about them first to see if your symptoms match. Many doctors don't fully understand PCOS yet because it's a relatively newly diagnosed disease (been around for a long time...sometimes it's genetic...sometimes environmental....there are still debates about how it's contracted and how it's treated...there's no cure, just ways to "deal" to some extent with it). With Endometriosis, you can have surgeries to remove the lining that has traveled, but you create more scars and it will continue to keep happening.

Good luck!!

oh boy. Actually - the person who said "Adhesions" could be right. The surgery might have caused adhesions (scar) to form on the iliopsoas muscle, the intestines, etc.

Go see your doctor of chiropractic. If all else failed, why not? It could be something easilly remedied by muscle stretch and spinal adjustment. If you send your zip, I can send you a referral.

My son had this problem for 8 months and when they took out his tonsilles they found out that he had Von WilleBrands disease, It's a very rare blood diease. His splean was swollen from it. Have your doctor do a H&H test and a PT/Ptt test for it.

Try a search on epiploic appendagitis (not appendicitis).
