Gaelic is an archaic term for Irish. The word is either Irish or Gaeilge. The term Gaelic is really only used to refer to the Sport Gaelic Football. Many language companies confuse people by using the archaic term.

There is a course you could get called Turas Teanga which would help you learn. But the best way is to go to a Gaeltacht to one of the many schools there.

Well Gaelic is the name for Celtic languages in general, Scotch Gaelic, Manx etc. But Irish applies specifically to the language spoken in Ireland. I would study Irish over Scotch Gaelic since its now an official language of the EU and Ireland. But if you are Scottish, I would go for that.

Gaelic and Irish are the same language but Gaelic is the proper name for the language once spoken by all Irish people. ,Unfortunately its only spoken by a small percentage off the Irish people today .The only area of Ireland where it is in every day usage is in the Gaeltacht which is in the north west of Ireland,it is of course taught in every junior school in the country .

Isish is one type of Gaelic; Scots is the other main one (Manx may be a third. not sure).

Irish Gaelic is more widely spoken in Ireland than other forms (but if you understand one form, the others are very similar), but English is the most common language there.

gaelic is more of a traditional language that was used in the 17th and18th centuries. it is still used today however not nearly as much. it was a respected language in the pagan culture. irish is more of a heavily slanged english, considering the fact that england has ruled ireland since the 13th or 14th century. so you decide if you want to learn a language or slang. they both sound beautiful, but only one is treasured.
