What are some good names for a little puppy? She is a female yellow lab, or black lab. We're hoping more for a yellow, but my first dog hasn't given birth yet, she is due in May. I just wanted some ideas :) Thank you all!!!

I had a black lab named Oreo.

And I current have a yellow lab named Hammy.

Sometimes pet name website are a good source for possible choices.

Good luck naming the puppy!

Funny to see this question....We also bred labs. Black labs, twice. With a total of 13 puppies....All adorable, as all puppies are. We kept them for six weeks, and trained them to eat, climb stairs and be with kids. Also trained them to go out as well. We sold them all pretty quick and the new owners-to-be already had names picked out. we put the pink/blue ribbons on them and added their names as well. Those that didn't have names, we gave them temporary names. I still have those names and they were perfect for each little one. I wanted to share them with you...You might like one also.
Little boys.....

We loved em' all and made sure each got a really good home. Kept up with them for two years.....They all lived Happily Ever After and I am sure by now they have little grand-kids of their own.

What I do when I name my pets is I name them after favorite movie characters, or book characters. Example, my Beagle is named Maximus Decimus Meridus (I call her Max) after the Roman general in Gladiator. LOVE that movie! I have a pair of Blue Gourami fish (male and female) that I named Sampson & Delila. This way you can be creative with the names, but not have used up names that everyone uses.

Sadie, Bailey, Bo, Kayla, Dixie, Muffin, Otis, Hank, Rudy, Max, Bennie and Annette if you are an Elton John fan (think Bennie and the Jets!)

Get the puppy first and spend a few days with her until you know her personality and quirks. That way, you'll pick out the perfect name for her!

i think BRUNO is a good strong name for a male dog and CLEO a very feminin name for a lady dog but i,m sure once you meet your puppy you will know almost instantly what you want to name it.
