Ok, I'm in Algebra 1. It is sooo hard! I'm home schooled. Last year I was able to teach myself how to do inriched Algebra but, I can't seem to teach myself how to do Algebra 1. I don't want to tell my parents because then they would get mad plus make me to do it anyhow. HELP!! I'm so frustrated! What should I do?

If you're home-schooled, then it's their job to erm. School you. At home. If they get mad for you asking question, there's something wrong there.

Anyway, you should ask their help. Or look around on google for guides on how to do whatever form of algebra is giving you trouble, at least.

This just seems wrong all over. What do you mean, they'd be mad? Work until you find the first thing you don't understand. Ask about that one specific thing. If they can't explain it, then it's their responsibility to find you someone who can.

Check with your local library, most have a tutoring program. Maybe you could find help there.

The important thing is to go one step at a time. Most people keep muddling through until they are completely confused. Make sure that you go in order, from first step to the last.

Talk to you parents, hon. They are there to be teaching you since you are home schooled. You are the student, not the teacher. That's their job. They can check with the local school district or home schooling association about available tutors for home schooled kids.

Also - I come from a fairly decent sized little town (around 100,000 people) we have an online tutor where kids can get tutoring in various subjects. You have to be registered as a student in our County to access the system, but a similar program might be available in your area.

Don't be afraid, hon. I know you want to make your parents proud of you - but struggling alone will hurt all of your studies. Never be afraid to say, "I don't know," or "I don't understand." That's the beginning of learning... overcoming the "I don't know's."

Peace, hon. --De

Algebra is difficult, but its way easier than Geometry, first look at your book, or go on to the internet and see if they can help you even more, and you can always ask questions here on Yahoo Answers! but if theres something that is really troubeling you then go to your parents, They should understand.

If you're being home schooled, your parents should be helping you with it before it even gets to this point. And if you feel you can't talk to them and are afraid of making them mad, sounds to me like they're being lazy *********es and making you school YOURSELF. Home schooling is a serious commitment a parent should make. If they're not willing to make sure you get all the support you need before you even end up needing it, they have no right to keep you out of school. Maybe you should point that out to them or even tell the education officials in your area.

Let your parents know so that they can help you or get you help before it's too late.Maybe they can buy a algebra program or you can find a tutorial for whatever you're working on on line.

You need to be honest and let them know you need help. Get a tutor. There are many onlie resources for homescoolers, you just have to look. I used to be a homeschooler so I know how hard it is. Try looking up the website of what book you are using.

Math is very difficult for some people. You have to tell them so you can better understand. You don't want to be older, and looked down upon because of your less than stellar math skills. I know it's going to suck, but just tell them. What's the worse that can happen?

First of all, explain to your parents that you are having problems with Algebra. They are there to help you.
Also if you would like, you can e-mail me at thawk5il@yahoo.com for help...I was fairly good at algebra...no answer giving, just helping with examples.

Please ask your parents for help. There are also plenty of programs out there on CD or DVD that teach higher level math. My kids are using Pre-Alg and Alg I from MathUSee, and it is WONDERFUL. Are your parents willing to spend a little more money?
