I am glad to see that you excerise on a reular basis. It would be totally different to eat a bunch of calories and then sit around and do nothing. But you are a very active young lady, so it won't hurt you to indulge every now and then. Doctors do not worry about whether or not you are a certain weight now a days. The worry more about what your bmi (body mass index) number is. You are fine the way that you are right now. Please don't try to weigh less. It honestly wouldn't kill you to gain a few pounds. As far as dieting advice goes: avoid pop if you can. If you feel you have to have one, try to find a diet pop that you like. Also avoid extra sugar. Keep different healthy snacks around. If someone eats a snack in front of you, it is only natural to also want a snack, so this way if you have a healty alternative on hand, you will not feel as bad. Do you know that when you skip a meal, you put your body into starvation mode? So when you do eat next time, your body absorbs the calories and stores them as fat. Very true. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. 1/3 of your daily calories should come from breakfast. Do not eat within 3 hours of your bedtime. Your body isn't being active, so if you eat a lot before you go to bed, you will also have your food stored as fat. Make sure that you are getting enough fiber in your diet as well as protein. Take a daily multivitamin. And last but not least, just stay physically active. You should excercise for at least 30 minutes a day every day. It is kind of hard to not worry about your weight when all you see in teen magazines and on tv are super skinny models. Just be aware of the fact that you can suffer serious medical problems if you are underweight.

It is very positive that you are trying to exercise and watch you diet, but you are actually a bit underweight. So while you don't want to hear it adding some extra calories on the weekend is likely fine for you and probably what your body needs.

Just eat a stable amount of calories every day(about 2,000 per day). Then, devise a steady cardio plan to do 3-5x per week(walking 20-30mins). No need to starve yourself! When you do that, your body goes into 'starvation mode' and holds onto every calorie you put in it to preserve your life. You're young, you've got a lot to learn, but don't strive to be like the supermodels on TV.

I don't think your are too skinny,I think you have an eating disorder and are headed for disaster if you don't address it.Everything in moderation is not acceptable advice that you want to hear is it?Please go to web med and look into anorexia and read up on it.Your obsessiveness with your counting calories and clocking the mileage of your walks and starving yourself on Mondays is not normal behavior for someone who doesn't have an eating disorder,Iam not picking on you and know that's not what you want to hear, but I think its what you need to hear.

You should allow yourself to splurge on the weekends because you limit your calories during the week. Your body is trying to tell you something & you should listen to it. You are still growing & your body & your brain need calories from protein, fat & carbs. PLEASE don't allow yourself to be influenced by the false images of skinny models & stars. The pictures of them are airbrushed & digitally enhanced - they have bad skin & cellulite just like the rest of the world.
