I know this sounds absolutely nuts, but when I got a puppy, my two year depression slowly but surely evaporated. I was so in love, so full of joy and having to take responsibility for this little creature that it wiped out my pity party.

I did it without medication and my depression was so bad I could not even walk or get out of bed. But when that little puppy was whimpering to go to the bathroom, I jumped right up and helped her.

I think the point of the story is when you truly get outside of yourself, you find a wonderful world.

Everyone experiences depression and if if they don't, they are very lucky.I do take meds. for seziures. I lost a friend in the summer of 2005. She lost control of her car,she was 20.
It was the neighbor's daughter (NO! we weren't going study or actuallu realted), I felt like an uncle to her, I knew her siince she was 5. She was shy and I tried ti work to get her over some of it, I guess that's one reason it hurts so much..
I'm also around aome griping and stuff which almost drives me nuts. But as an epileptic, I have learned that life isn't fair. Those of us with disabilities were chosen for a special purpose in life.
At least one of my meds.(possible) have a side effect - depression. But if u hv to takem 'em, you hv to take 'em.

Well, what kind of country would it be if a bunch of melancholy people were sitting and lying around being sad and feeling like everything is hopeless-the least depressed people are the ones who find things to distract themselves-so, why not force distractions upon the melancholy-if they dont know the source(s) of the distraction is unethical how can they complain?

There is a point where depression breaks and your soul dies

I was once depressed several years ago. My mother and friends changed that, however, by showing me a place I belonged. When they proved I had a place in this world, and potential to help, I grew optimistic and my luck changed. My grades changed and I understood myself better, and now I am helping others depressed like I once was with the help of my therapist. In addition, my goal to write a book kept me going when everything seemed hopeless. It was really just a mixture of support and motivation that saved me.

any sort of depression can be tide over by faith in GOD and sincere prayer.

Your prayer is from your heart. Further You must have to understood the fact that God is present in our heart. This can be realised in meditation. Further we are the creation of our own destiny. As per Hindu sacred religion, we carry all good and bad deeds life after life. There is no end unless we pray for unification of self with the divineliness.
Hence there is always a possible way to complete mergence with God in this life by a simple and wonderful meditation

Most depression manifests itself in a chemical imbalance in the brain. Meds are adept at correcting that imbalance. If you have a chemical imbalance, nobody can say anything to you that can correct it.

However, after it's corrected, counseling can help prevent it from returning.
