Yes, I've tried it. I lost 40 pounds. Easiest diet I ever did. It's easy to follow, you don't get hungry and it brought my cholesterol down from 244 to 167. How's that for good results?

The Atkins does work but leaves you exhausted and feeling awful, as soon as you start eating carbs again then the weight piles back on you, if losing some pounds of any description and inches is what you want then I would suggest you use a diet that is all natural and is rich in protein and vitamins, which is what the FDA recommends. I used a protein based diet with Herbalife after a friend who had lost weight with them recommended it to me. All the way through you feel great and energized, you also get great coaching and support along the way. The people are very friendly and gave me lots of great advice. I needed to lose 40 pounds and I did so fairly easily. There is no pressure and they will even send you a load of free samples so you can try before you buy. The samples were the thing that initially convinced me that this was the right diet for me. The products really work and you feel great whilst losing weight. You also a get e free complete health consultation with the samples, I think I just paid the postage, but for what I got it was well worth it.
I lost all my weight in less than four months and they have helped me to keep it off. I would definitely recommend using them. The owners will advise you on what to purchase depending on what you want to lose, my sister did this also and lost 76 pounds in five months. The website is www.myhealthabc.com. You just leave your details and they call you up, I would suggest that if you aren’t sure or don’t want someone to ring you then go to their main site www.myhealthabcmall.com and you can see all the products and packages and order from their. This is what I did before I went to the first site and left my details so they could contact me. You can see with all the products and detail they have, so you know that they mean business. Its nice to have contact with real people who care about you losing weight and improving your health. I know that I will continue to keep the weight off with the help I have received. I hope this helps.

The Atkins diet is extremely dangerous. It weakens the heart and the body. Yes, you lose weight but in a very unhealthy way. You lose weight too fast and it can weaken your heart and body, by shocking it into losing weight too fast. Also, you lose fat and muscle not just fat. Then when you start eating like a human again, you may the weight back, mostly as fat. I also heard Dr. Atkins himself died of heart problems because of this very diet. That may be true or not, but whatever the case any diet that has you losing more than 2-3 lbs a week is not a healthy rate to lose fat at and you shouldnt do.

Besides carbs are good for energy and you need them, just stay away from the bad carbs the refined stuff. White stuff. White sugar, white bread, white flour etc.

I lost 65 lbs. on Atkins & have kept it off. It is an easy diet to follow & you can make it as low fat as you'd like. A recent study showed it to be the most effective diet for weight loss with no adverse effect on blood chemistries. When you introduce carbs back into your diet do it slowly over a period of weeks & then if you start gaining weight again, back off the carbs a little.

The Atkins Diet may or may not work, however, it is not about "the diet". The Atkins trademark is placed on approved food, and the Atkins company makes profit from these labels.

Furthermore, drug companies also make profit from diet pills, as does the manufacturers of medical apparatus and methods to loose weight.

According to the Centers for Disease Control, The "overweight" epidemic is largely based on the Body Mass Index, in my opinion an unscientific method to roughly estimate the fat content of every single person regardless of ethnic heritage, muscle mass, bone mass and water retention. In order to accurately measure fat content requires controlled study and precise apparatus. The Body Mass Index is a simple ratio calculated by Height over Weight Squared, and says nothing more about an individual that "I am 136 lbs and 5'5".

Last, while deaths related to diabetes have increased, other weight-related diseases have decreased or have not significantly increased since 1955. This can be due to one of two things, we have gotten significantly better at treating diseases such as stroke and heart disease, or we have gotten better at diagnosing diabetes. As a child, it was not uncommon to hear "s/he died or 'old age'" this phrase is almost unheard of at this point. I suspect we have gotten better at diagnosis of diabetes.

The truth of the matter is that big business, such as the drug industry and the Atkins make a lot from convincing us that we are too fat. Not long ago it was common irony that in the 1940's and 1930's a more full-figured woman is desirable. Today it almost seems as though we base our self-worth on our Body Mass Index, it almost seems appropriate to judge larger people.

When I drive by local gyms, the parking lots are full of cars, and the bicycle racks are empty. The fast food drive-ins are full. Yet, I do not see the "majority of fat Americans" in daily life.

atkins diet will not work long term. unless you completly eliminate carbs forever. on atkins diet you usually lose most of the weight as water weight, which comes back when you go off the diet

No I do not believe in it. Probably the safest diet is Jenny Craig. You are not deprived of any specific food, and you eat the foods in the correct proportions and in balance with each other. When people don't eat carbs, and live on high protein only, the body develops problems that can have a life-lasting effect on your health....same with South Beach.

Atkins replaced right into a touch strict, and has been changed. It does artwork, yet you do choose carbs. the main portion of a low carb weight loss plan is to diminish out donuts, french fries, and all of that junk food. That stuff makes you fat. fat is a humorous ingredient. it is your physique's way of surviving. It says, "maybe there is not any longer continually going to be this significant furnish of food, so i will save it!" It shops fat no longer by way of packing on the fat which you consume, yet by way of taking sugar and carbohydrates and turning it into fat. once you consume protein, your physique can't turn that into fat because of the fact it is unable to doing it. Protein is what your physique desires as a construction block. That leaves fat. Your physique discards fat which you consume. It is going via your device, provides you undesirable nutritional value, yet would not get packed on on your hips, thighs, and at the back of. once you decrease out the carbs, you rigidity your physique to consume the fat you have saved with the intention to get the potential you opt for. I actually have a greater effective determination. Do Weight Watchers and connect. it rather is the main secure weight loss plan accessible. you have limited factors allowed, so it forces you into making healthy options. With the 35 bonus factors a week you're allowed, that's less complicated. additionally, do a touch study approximately "fat burning" workout mode. once you exert your self too plenty, your physique stops burning fat, and starts off to burn the sugar you merely ate that day. in case you keep your heartbeat at approximately one hundred to a hundred thirty beats according to minutes (finding on your age and intercourse), you will save burning fat. So a brisk walk and effective respiratory will do wonders for you.
