Personally, I don't believe in using blood in ANY ritual. Blood is a sacred fluid which should not be removed by force to be used in ritual. To me, I believe that to be abusing a sacred fluid. Blood is in you to allow you to live. To use it in ritual is not right, IMO. However, if you want to use blood, then that is your choice. However you get it is up to you.
(Just want to point out, that if blood is extracted for medical purposes, then that is fine with me. I just don't believe in using it in spells or rituals.)

If your doing a spell of initiation that calls for the drawing of blood, then you ought to think very carefully about whether you really want to join the group in question.
Remember that things can get worse as well as better.
Never feel that you can't back out of something like that. If it involves self harm, then you'll have your real friends and the police by your side should you want to.
I'm not against witchcraft or paganism, I'm against what are effectively gangs coming up with 'tasks' and new 'rituals'.

What the heck is a spell of initiation?
Rituals and Rites of initiation I know about
If you mean a spell of self initiation, no such thing, Initiation is a rite of passage ceremony marking entrance or acceptance into a group or society, ie. someone has to initiate you.
Any spell that calls for the drawing of blood specifically means done at the time of the spell.

Eh, if your serious, I'll tell you.
when I use blood, I either use animal blood, or if that's unavailable;le, I use my special knife on my shoulder. It isn't a sacrifice if it's an accident.
I make it a habit to not use my own blood a lot, as scar tissue is bad.
I wonder how many fluffies are going to accuse me of horrible things?

No of course not. That which demands the blood would never accept such a weak offering. No, really I don't know. I'm just glad I'm a child of the King.

Well, blood is meant to be a sacrifice, you have to have the intent behind it. If it's from an accident, and it wasn't your intention to cut yourself...they you probably shouldn't use it.
