If I'd see a picture I could tell as sometimes the makers would put a panel over the radio not allowing the radio removal without pulling the panel and using the U shaped clamps

the tool can be bought for a few bucks at wal-mart and has the proper ends to latch onto the radio clips.. also remember to pry outward from the radio with the tools when yanking the radio

Ford F150 Radio Removal

Last year I was having trouble with the stereo/cassette my dad put in my Bronco (which replaced the stock radio), so I put in a different stereo/cassette. The removal tools didn't work. They were the kind you would get from a dealership, and even after bending them in and out, no luck.
What I did was I took part of the dash off, and just yanked the old stereo out. On my Bronco (essentially the same thing as a F-150), there were a couple black trim peices that just get pulled out, and screws underneath get unscrewed. Then there are a couple pieces around the radio that have to be removed I think. Then just reach up, and jank it out.

All I can think is that if you have to two holes in each side and Sterling is Ford, then it is the same tool.

Go to your local autozone and get the real tool.
