Ear infection. Regardless of what it is, I would take her to the vet. Tell them what is wrong, and see what they say.

Does she seem to have a hard time seeing things lately?
Like missing the food on her plate by an inch type of thing?
Is the windowsill wide enough? Is she a big girl?
Is she walking OK?
Now she is getting older, old age in itself does account for a lot of issues that are bothersome but not life threatening.
Could she have a inner ear infection perhaps? That throws cats and peoples balance off. Look in her ear for wax build up, funny smell, redness, ect.
Watch and note her actions while she is on the sill (before the fall) does she get excited by birds or other animals?
Then a long shot is a neurological issue. Like I said it is a long shot.
Keep an eye on her and note her actions while window watching. If need be buy a "window perch" and install it. They are pretty cheap actually. I got mine from "Petco" for 25$
My kids LOVE it. It further encourages their laziness...LOL

I would have her checked by the vet. Has she gained a lot of weight and doesn't fit on the windowsill as well?? 10 isn't old for a cat (about middle age... most of our cats live to about 17 and our oldest lived to 23!) If this is new she might have an infection...

That's not normal, even if your kitty is overweight or getting on in years. Cats that lose their balance several times could be having inner ear issues, like an infection. This is realtively simple to treat if you take kitty to the vet now and have it diagnosed and have the right antibiotic prescribed.

She has to go to the vet. NO ONE on here can tell you what it may or may not be because they are not vets and they have never seen your cat. At her age it can be a large range of different things, from serious to easily treated. Take her to the vet and good luck. Hopefully it is nothing serious.

i strongly recommend you to take her to the vet. she's an old cat, so my guess there could be a problem with her ears, since she keeps losing her balance and fall off. take her to the vet a.s.a.p and get her checked out.hope she'll get better.

well, it could be possible that your cat is over weight, and that she's just too big for the window sill... otherwise she might be getting old. you might want to talk to you local vet and see what they think.
