I loves world war 2 planes over the modern jets any day they look great Eh.....oh wait they are great they look cool and the sound from them engines.incredible!!

Yeah WWII planes are so much better, each country had a personal style of aircraft, you can see the grace in a spitfire and the terror in a Stuka or the work horse ability in a flying fortress, each design was unique for whatever side it flew for, aircraft these days are so samey.
Even the Germans first Jets were cool the M262 was a real mean flying machine.

For pure lines and looks you would have to say all world war 2 planes,they all have character,all sexy looking but unfortunately they were made to kill,on the other hand if it is for pure fighting power it has to be modern fighter jets.. times change and time improves but again all for killing..my favourite planes from world war two are Hurricane and the Japanese zero...modern day is MiG 29 fulcrum and Lockheed martin (General Dynamics) F16c..

F-22 raptor has got to be the coolest plane i have ever seen with its gold covered canopy and the steamline shape. Yea, the WW2 planes like the spitfire and Me-262 are classific, but you want to talk about having a great shape, the raptor is unbeatable.

All of the answers here are true but its not what you have but what you do with it,Heroes are on all sides no matter what their politics.But yes the Hurricane,Spitfire,B17,Lancaster,ME109,Fockewolf,hear and feel the power.Of modern planes nothing comes close to the Vulcan Bomber when its engines are screaming at full chat,We must never forget the men who flew them no matter what side.

Actually I prefer the British Mosquito. I was made of plywood and one heck of an airplane. I also like the American P40 Warhawk. It looked good with the sharks teeth in the front.

my favourites are Avro Vulcan and English Electric Lightning.
Other than that the old war planes are the best.
