A 2 door vehicle is considered a type of sports car. Insurance is higher for sports cars than for 4 door coupes.

We all know a 2 door Cavalier isn't a sports car, but 2 door vehicles are considered sporty. They are in a higher insurance bracket, and they are a little more attractive to thieves. The bad younger drivers (not all younger drivers are bad by the way) tend to drive more 2 door cars than 4 door "grampa" cars, so the claims experience is a higher bracket.

That is not always the case. I have seen many cases where four door vehicles are more. You may want to try a website that compares multiple companies at once to get you the best price. I am paying less than ½ after I did.

two doors are considered "sporty" and usually attract younger drivers. Younger drivers (typically) get into more accents or get more tickets = higher rates. I had a red two door car. Got rid of it asap!

My guess would be that it would cost more to repair.
