I smoked about 5 times in December and haven't smoked since (so a little less than 3 months). I have to take a routine blood test and possibly urine test for my physical examination in the next week. I was wondering if there is a possibility for THC or other marijuana metabolites to be found in my blood or urine. Is three months sufficient time for all of the marijuana to have disappeared from my urine and bloodstream? Please someone answer this. I'm desperate. I've researched this thoroughly and have found conflicting answers like 48-72 hours, 30 days, and even more. I'm not being given a specific drug test, just a routine blood and urine test. Also, what are the repercussions if for some reason my doctor found traces of marijuana? I'm over 18 but still a college student.

THC stores itself in the fatty tissues. It can stay in your system for about 30 days. It can stay a little longer if you are overweight. But its been 2 months and you'll be fine, providing you don't stay in room of other smokers and get the 2nd hand smoke. So I would suggest not being in the vicinity of others who are indulging. Urine and blood will be clean. A hair sample though, can stay for years. However, keep in mind, that a urine test, cost more, the farther (deeper levels) that they check. They generally don't go back more then 30 days due to the costs. You should be fine. I wouldn't encourage you though, to smoke at all, if this is what you have to face, because of it. it's not worth the hassle.

I posed a similar question to my doctor and she said that it usually takes anywhere from 60 - 90 days. It all depends of you level of body fat as that is where the THC is stored. So, a thinner person will have it leave their system faster than a heavier person.

If you're not being given a specific drug test and it's just a routine work-up, the chances that they'll do a drug screening are very slim. Unless, this blood work is for a job, there probably won't be any repercussions if they find trace amounts of THC. Personally, I think you'll be ok, 5 times 3 months ago isn't a whole lot to begin with.

Most of these answerers are on crack ! It only takes about a month. I'm serious ,I spent a year in " Drug Court" and got tested all the time. At first ,my THC levels were really high,so was I ,but when I stopped using ,it went down each time I was tested. Don't worry about the hair root test, they won't do it on regular, routine , job related physical. Drug Court didn't even do it , they said it was too expensive. The doctor will not do unnecessary , expensive tests or treatments without a reason , or being told so ! You'll be fine, it has been plenty long enough. Don't take those things that clean your system , You don,t need it and it will make your pee "clear" and THAT WOULD raise a red flag to them. It also washes away proteins and stuff so they may think you are not healthy or know you have "flushed ". You will be fine !!!

The problem with THC and blood/urine tests is that the metabolites are psychotropically active as well. So even when THC is broken down by your body the by-products can cause a positive test reading. It takes about 32 days for your body to clear all THC and metabolites.
As for rammafications of a positive...that would depend on the reason for the physical. If it is just your own knowledge then no real rammifications.
If for parole or work then maybe legal/employment rammifications

It really does depend on your body fat, if you are skinny and active person, it should be clear. THC builds up on your fat, and the more you smoke the longer it takes to get out of your system, thus only 5 times, doesnt seem like a huge lot. If you smoked everyday in Dec. Id be concerned. Urine should only take about 30 day, as long as you are hydrating yourself, blood can be up to 3 months. Again, Body fat, really has a big factor on it. The worst thing that could happen to you is that you may get fired, or you may be put on a little vacation from your employer for 30 days without pay, then be on a year probation with your employer, where they can **** test you at anytime in that year time frame.

I've heard that there is a medication out there that cost a lot of money. Once taken your blood system will be clear of any drugs especially Marijuana. One of my friend took it and she had to because she had a blood test for this job she wanted to get. She got the job. Well I really don't know the name, but I don't even know if doctors provide any information on that. Ask around some people might know of the medication I am talking about. Again try to talk to your doctor... I'm not sure, but good luck.

If someone wants to bust you for marijuana use there is no use worrying all tests can be faked and they are.... Your blood and urine can show traces of THC if you merely sniff second hand smoke. In fact the number one reason Christian-Zealots support mandatory urine testing for children is to catch their parents and other adults who might be smoking within a hundred yards of a child. America wants you to be on crustal meth and will do everything to hurt supporters of THC - - - crystal meth generates crime and crime is big business in America. THC mellows people out and is viewed as a threat.

Peace...

Scientifically 30 days is the best recommendation.....

Also if it your doctor and not a company phycisian it is private info what is in your urine & blood and a truly good doctor has no reason to 'rat you out.'

Go to your GNC store and purchase Goldenseal tea.....not the tablets the tea mixture if you can....drink it the day before and then the morning before the test but give it like 5 hours prior to the test so your urine does not look very light colored and diluted because that can be a tip off.....I beleive the drug lasts up to 8 weeks in your system......I know somebody close who beat a drug test doing what I just said only two weeks after indulging.......GoldenSeal does work....it flushes your system so be sure to do it the day before....You may not need to do it the day of if you do it the day before because its been a while since you indulged....good luck! This is very doable......I feel bad saying it but Ive known many people who use this stuff to pass these tests.....

Between 11 and 30 days. Maximum (very unlikely, from extremely heavy use) is 90 days. Drinking fluids helps speed it up (but don't drink a silly amount). Either way you are in the clear.

(It stays in the hair forever, but you won't be tested that way, it is very expensive and only shows up traces that can be put down to other factors.)
