What is your purpose in having a boyfriend? Ultimately it is to find a mate for yourself, so really unless you are looking for that "someone special" you don't need a boyfriend. For some girls this may not be until college.

Are you succumbing to peer pressure? Other girls are talking about their boyfriends, so you think you "need" one too? A trophy to show off to the other girls? Then you don't need a boyfriend.

Having a boyfriend will disrupt your life to no purpose because girls and boys see these relationships totally different.

Girls are looking for a "relationship" with their "soul mate" (however you would recognize that at any age is beyond me...) and will either spend their time trying to compare him to their idea of what this should be or feeling low because he does not match up. Jealousy is usually the result, because young girls are not able to cope with the fact that guys are really not committed to a relationship like girls are -- for the guy, it's flattering to be talked to by several girls -- they don't want to be "tied down".

A guy who is old enough to be interested in girls more than video games and sports, is interested in only one thing: S-E-X. Everything in their makeup is directed toward that end.

That is the about the only reason they are interested in cheerleaders is to get a chance to see up their skirts -- even if it's made socially acceptable for them to look. To a guy's brain it "appears" that they are looking at something they aren't supposed to be staring at.

So if they can get it from 20 girls they will try -- even if they have a "girlfriend". If she is willing to "satisfy" his "needs", he will stay with her until he finally decides it is time to settle down. Then he will find someone who has not been promiscuous to marry.

A REAL boyfriend? I think you should be atleast fifteen or sixteen, on the basis anyone younger than that just...isn't ready to date.
Plus, you can't go out on dates if neither of you can drive a car =D
