Other then getting someone else to buy it for you, winning it in a competition, or limiting yourself to the software Microsoft gives away for free - no, by definition.

If its pirated then it isn't genuine.

Most Microsoft software is indeed free. Just download it from Microsoft.com. The only things that you can really not get for free or next to nothing are Windows and Office.

If you download a client like Bitcomet, Bittornado etc...there is a huge abundance of sites you can go to to get all kinds of stuff like games, software, movies, Ebooks, TV shows etc. I would recommend mininova.org. Others are Bitsoup, Bitenova, TorrentPortal, TorretReactor, Piratebay, Meganova, lots of them. In fact if you use BitComet as your client, it allready has a list of links to go to. But, yeah technically it is illegal, but I dont think the swat team is gonna knock down your door(or the millions of other people that are doing it). Besides, if it was that big of a deal it seems like those sites would have been shut down a long time ago. So, I think they'll go after the source first.

Try one of the free operating systems.

Get UBUNTU (or XUBUNTU if your computer has less than 256MB of RAM). It's easy to install and use. You can dual boot it with other operating systems. It's a free, reliable and up to date operating system. Once you have it installed, you gain access to thousands of free programs created by the open source community.

Always back up your data before making changes to your computer.
