I am seventeen and just about to graduate high school.
Furthermore, I am in love. He was my best friend for two years, and then we started dating a year ago.
My parents say I can't be in love, because I'm too young.

Of course you can be in love. It is your first love and it is full of innocence and newness. You are graduating high school and proved you are mature. Don't be down on your parents, though, they still see you as their baby and they love you. Perhaps if you show them that you can take things slow with your guy, they will be more open to you seeing each other.

Your parents are correct, remember they have been your age and have the wisdom a 17 year old has not had time to develop. Also your parents love you, you can be sure they only want the best for you. probably most of the people saying you are not to young to know love are too young to know themselves. I also thought i was in-love at 17-18 years old, as probably your parents had. Trust your parents in this and similar scenarios, be assured they are the ones you will always have to fall back on, boyfriends may come and go. In a few years you will agree with them, hopefully without making too many bad choices before then.

There's no age limit on love. But a good rule of thumb is that you're most likely going to above the age of 15 and dating the person who you say you're in love with.
And so, no. I don't think you're too young.

thats a hard question cause i thought i really liked a girl when i was 17 and we broke up and i relized latter that i didnt like her as much as i thought i did people change alot from when there 17 to when there 18 or at least i did but that still dosnt mean you cant try to stay together and make it work but just talke it slow thats my only sugestion

its OK to be in love...its a normal thing, but just not too far...I'm afraid you might end up in the wrong direction. people think their in love many times but its just not true love...its like a spam of vapor that'll soon disappear before you....it's good to go out and know each other but just don't take it too far....your parents have been through there, they know and they understand....but at times i think some, not much, parents DON'T understand....but its best to listen to them...after all they raised you and pamper you with TRUE LOVE, so its fine to be in love just don't carry it too far...ok...best of luck!

i dont think so. anybody can find love at any time in their lives, when kids are teenagers, sometimes they mix infatuation with love.. but it seems like you have know this guy for a long time so you should be able to tell your feelings for him (i have the same thing going on but i havent told him that i like him yet!!)

Everyone is so different. I mean...how many boyfriends have you had before this guy? I really don't see why not. I married my best freind. I couldn't be happier.

hun if you think you are love then you are in love and that's that your parents can't tell you how you feel and furthermore make sure that is what you are feeling just don't make yourself vulnerable and also follow your heart!!!
