A couple searches found 22 possible quad-cities locations in both IL & IA. There was only 1 in IA. It has AC/Delco parts advertised as do the 18 nonshown IA ones.

The 2 IL locations at the bottom of the list are racing shops. I would start there. Give them a call. they should know a location if they don't sell it.

Also...Sunoco produces street legal racing fuel. It's called Sunoco 260 GT 100. No close locations for you in IL...closest is Aurora. Des Moines and Pacific Junction, IA have it too. Go to this site for all locations:

regardless of the incontrovertible fact that bigger octane fuels often do furnish a earnings, no count if it would for you will possibly matter on some issues: First what variety of motor vehicle/engine are you speaking approximately? what variety of using are you doing, you reported driving force education is that maximum superb? What effects are you attempting to attain from utilising a bigger octane? you assert your motor vehicle makes use of ninety one, is that cautioned from the generating unit? often the better octane fuels are cautioned for the better overall performance style autos. interior the days of the massive blocks (1960's) you had to apply "extreme try" in view which you will possibly blow up your motor utilising typical. at present's engines are made greater gas efficient so the better octane fuels are no longer any greater needed, even for the quite a few so observed as bigger performace engines. domestically you may no longer get plenty bigger than ninety one-ninety 3 octane from the pump any way, yet once you particularly mean extreme octane racing gas, then the sky is the shrink, yet those are no longer waiting attainable. to respond to your question definite, you should use a bigger octane racing gas on your on an accepted basis driving force, however the value may well be out of this international, given the using a pupil driving force does, which you probably did no longer point out this variety of using you do there. So i'm assuming that that's the common sluggish careful using that new drivers do. stick to the ninety one octane no count if it particularly is cautioned from the generating unit, yet whilst no longer i would not use it for a using education motor vehicle with the aid of value and this variety of using they do. i'm maximum curious as to what variety of motor vehicle it particularly is. solid good fortune desire this helps some.

Been my experience that the airports will not sell to you to put in a can. Since the road taxes don't apply to airplane fuel they are worried about non taxation issues.

try the local drag strip, or look up VP FUELS or SONOCO fuels on the net.

ALSO if you buy LEADED RACE GAS, and most of it is leaded, your oxygen sensors will crap out in about 45 minutes, then it'll cost you 300 bucks to replace.

MAKE SURE you get unleaded if you have a car with factory fuel injection. READ THE LABEL ON THE DRUM if your unsure.
Or just go buy straight tolulene form the paint store.
