Well, Job sorta ran out of family.

Oh, you mean AFTER, when Job got new kids? Sure, that was awfully nice of god!

Um, God didn't make Satan stop.. It's not like Satan was itching to slaughter these people.. all he did was point Job out to God. God's the one who came up with the wager.. Satan just did as he was told.
That guy needs a better PR rep.

Ok, yes it was really nice of God - but He didn't do it until Job's wife drove him nuts and his friends hung around for a while making Job feel really bad about the whole thing.

I'm a christian, and deeply offended by this, and I can't stop laughing. Bad Starjumper, Bad!
No, but seriously folks, Job will see his families again at the ressurection, so I don't think God takes the same view on death as we mortals do. To him it's just like, "ok, they go to sleep for a nanosecond, wake up and they are all together again. What is the big deal?"
I'm being bad again...here's what I should have said: "..."

merciful ways.

how about this: Wasnt it nice that G-d CLEARLY displays his judgement through stories like Job?

Then sent the easiest way out of judgement and into blessing (Jesus/Yeshua) possible because He desires we are all blessed?

What an EASY choice!! Have you chosen blessing....or judgement? Many suffered so this would be a VERY EASY choice.
