He ate half of a mini twix bar? He's fine. Unless he weighs like less than an ounce, that's not enough chocolate to cause any harm. He *might* have a little bit of diarrhea later, but that's it.

That is not enough chocolate to hurt your puppy. Forget about it. The kind of chocolate that vets are talking about is "baker's chocolate" the kind you use to make cakes, etc. Not milk chocolate. There is not enough of the chemical that would harm a dog in one twix bar. Don't worry about it. I also suggest that you purchase powdered charcoal from your local vet supply so that anytime the puppy eats garbage or something else it shouldn't that you can dose it with charcoal and help to get rid of the toxins. I had a very curious doxie a few years ago and my vet showed me how to charcoal her. I have both the tube type that you generally use on horses and the powder that comes in a jar. Good luck -k-

Don't panic!!! Chocolate can be harmful to dogs, but most would have to eat a huge amount for them to be ill & dark chocolate is far worse than milk. There's so much hysteria around about dogs eating chocolate & yet mine have had the odd one for years & never come to any harm. Don't try to make him vomit, just keep an eye on him & calm down.

Don't worry about your pet.....he will be ok.

It takes a fairly large amouth of theobromine (the toxic ingredient in chocolate) to cause a toxic reaction.

Milk chocolate which contains the least amount of theobromine (only 44 mg per oz) For milk chocolate to be toxic, use the following scale of 1 oz per 1 pound of body weight. (so if your dog is 5 lbs she would have to eat 5 oz of milk chocolate to be toxic)

Milk chocolate will often cause diarrhea 12-24 hours after ingestion. Make sure she has plenty of liquids to prevent dehydration.

He sould be ok.
If he only ate that much.
But if he eats any more go to the vet.
chocolate is considered poision for a dog.
Dogs and puppies do not have the ability as we humans do to digest a simple chemical found in chocolate called "Theobromine". When theobromine is ingested by an animal it affects are horrific on the central nervous system and the cardiovascular system.
Tell me if your dog is ok or acting strange.

Dont make him vomit, he's fine. Chocolate in volume is bad for dogs, but dogs get into a little chocolate all the time and are fine. Just leave him be.

Unless he starts to behave like he is sick I would not worry about it. As many have said here, one candy bar is not that much. Further I used to know a dog that looooved chocolate, didn't faze her at all.(although I wouldn't make a habit of letting him eat the stuff)

Your dog should be fine. It usually depends on how much your dog weighs. Chocolate poisoning can occur with as little as a quarter ounce of baking chocolate ingested per pound of body weight.

Calm down. He'll be fine. It's just a little chocolate. My dog once ate ten, large chocolate cookies when he was just a little puppy, and aside from a stomach ache, he was fine.

If your dog starts having problems, though, you should call your vet quickly.

Bring him to the vet ASAP!!! Chocolates could make dogs die! But don't panic! It depends how much he ate. I don't know how big is a mini twix bar so, I don't know how much he ate. Good luck! Hope your puppy will be okay!
