how can I get a bench warrant lifted? I was already in jail for the same issue when I missed the court date.

depends on your state ,but you have to go to court ,you can go to the court house before that date and talk to the states attorney they might be able to change things around for you but be nice and don't loose your temper etc, some states don't allow being in jail be a good enough reason to not be in court ,,i know it doesn't make any seance but see what you can do remember stay calm whats done is done now try to fix it good luck

you'll have to turn yourself in and go in front of a judge .
