Fictional character cannot feel sadness. I agree with your last sentence, but religion currently is hindering that from occurring.

God understands better than anyone else.
He also had a plan --right from the start-- of how to put things right again.

"And Jehovah God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, ... I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed: he shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel." Gen 3:14,15 ASV

That is the first prophecy about God's Kingdom government.
The very hatred that you speak will not go away by mankind's doing. It is in fact one of the many signs of Christ's presence in that Kingdom government.

A great majority of people believe the lies that have been spread about God, which are actually true of his adversaries instead. One of them is that he keeps the dead alive to torture them! Another, is that he kills the innocent & leaves them no hope!

But, he is --as you say-- Very much a God of Love.

If God doesn't understand, he's not much of a God.

Then again, I'm sure your fluff-bunny god wants everything to be nice and clean and no fighting and all of that. Trouble is that if you're a Christian, the Bible is replete with fighting and killing and harsh punishment and hell and fire and brimstone and people turning into salt and drowning an entire world ......

So, do you have an ignorant sad god or a killing god or what?

No they don't listen to anything or anyone.
Jesus came and said - here are the two rules you must follow:
Love your Lord God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind. And the second is love your neighbor as yourself. How can you hate others if God made them just like you?
Pray unceasingly for the welfare of the world. Blessings to you!

The imperfections of human nature will prevent us from universally loving each other. Everyone has an ego.
