Unless you are already a marathon runner, I'd forget that idea. 3500 calories a day is a lot. Using a slight incline, I burn about 400 calories an hour while jogging on my treadmill.

If you need to lose five pounds fast, try this. Do a reasonable workout everyday (half an hour to an hour on the treadmill, if you can safely handle it). Control your caloric intake. Don't consume more than about 2000 calories a day - look on the net to find the exact number you need based on your age and size. Drink lots of water to flush your body of wastes, and avoid salty food. Did you know that when you eat something salty, like bacon, that your body retains a lot of water to dilute the salts? Water retention is the easiest factor to eliminate when you need to lose a small amount of weight quickly. (By the way, drinking lots of water helps to eliminate water retention because it will flush all those salts out of your body. Drinking more does not mean retaining more.)

Follow those easy steps and if your body has five pounds to spare, it will more than likely be gone in a week.

Good luck!

No it is not healthy, but yes, you probably could lose 5lbs. What I want to know is why you'd want to lose 5lbs? It would mostly be water weight no matter how much you worked out and 5lbs isn't going to make you look much different than you are now. It's only going to make you tired and weak from working out and starving yourself. Plus, starving yourself for about a week will slow down digestion, leaving you looking and feeling bloated, so you'd probably look like you actually gained 5lbs. Just try to lose weight in a healthy, moderate way and you'll be rewarded.
