You are going to 323 6th Avenue at W. 3rd Street. That's "Downtown" from Times Square where you getting on the Subway. There are ticket machines available at each of the MTA stations, so you can simply purchase a single ride fare from the machine or from the information booth if it is open. You need the ticket to pass through the turnstile to get to the trains.

You will retrace your route except that you will take the same train UPTOWN.

Take the A, B, C, D, E, F, OR V train DOWNTOWN to West 4th Street/ Washington Square stop or the 1 train to Christopher Street,Sheridan Square.

I believe the cost will be $2 per person each way.

Since you are going Downtown, Port Authority and the Subway may not be the best way to go, especially if traveling from New Jersey. There are better, faster ways to get to Christopher Street area.

The one-way fare for a ride (bus or subway) is $2. You need to purchase a MetroCard to access the subway...you can either go to the token booth clerk or purchase a card from the machines - kinda multicolored of sorts...(to save some time, your best bet would be to buy a $4 card for the trip back).

Since the IFC Center is near West 4th Street (on 6th Avenue), from where you are in Port Authority take the "A" or "C" train downtown (the "C" train is local getting there, but only for one stop - 23rd Street, so it really doesn't make much of a difference). Get out at the West 4th Street station.

After you enjoy your movie, you will head back to West 4th Street. The station entrances, for the most part, are green barred surrounding the staircase, with a white and green ball lighted on top (to indicate 24/7 access). As you approach the staircase, you will see a black (with white striped) sign of the station name along with the subway lines serving it. Take the "A" or "C" uptown and get out at the "42nd Street/Port Authority" station.

have confidence me observing the map won't make you a tourist. close by New Yorkers use the maps on the subways and in basic terms approximately never carry the surely map with them. (even regardless of the undeniable fact that they are unfastened. Lol) often you will get a experience for the subway by skill of using it frequently. I rode the prepare my complete existence to the element that i will call all the stops in Brooklyn/Queens on the A,C and E strains and the 4,5, and six in massive apple. it is the only suggestion that i promises you. in basic terms take the prepare as much as you may. additionally it helps in case you regulate your course slightly each and every time once you get conscious of attending to places one way.

The Metro cards are sold in vending machines. It costs $2 a ride one way. You can buy the card with paper money or your ATM or Credit card. You can buy them in amounts of $10, $20, or $40. But the best thing to do is take advantage of the $76 dollar a month unlimited pass. That way you don't have to worry about running out of money on your card.
