When you least expect Him to do so

There is a great deal of interest today in the subject of our Lord's return. I believe that this divinely predicted event may well happen soon; and I am constantly urging believers to obey the scriptural injunction that "teaches us to say 'No' to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope—the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ" (Titus 2:12-13). At the same time, I am also aware that the Lord's return may be thousands of years away. The Bible says that "with the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day" (2 Peter 3:8).

While there are indications that we may be approaching a crisis in history, and biblical descriptions of the last days fit our times, it would be unwise to make any prediction about the exact time of Christ's return. When on earth, Jesus said, "No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father" (Matthew 24:36). The important thing is that we should be ready for His coming: "Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour" (Matthew 25:13). Read also 1 Thessalonians 5:1-11 and 2 Peter 3:3-15.

Hello;

Do not try and calculate His Second Coming. Many have tried, all have failed. In Matthew 24:36, He says,"But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only." In the 1880's , a man named William Miller, spent considerable time working out the date of the Lord's coming. He was so sure that he had it right. He told his entire congregation to, sell their houses, quit their jobs, buy white robes. All went up on a hill early one morning and waited. And waited, and waited.
Nothing happened! He subsequently, lost his whole congregation.

Jesus did give some clues. In Matthew chapter 24:5-8. We read,"Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name,saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers place. All these are the beginning of sorrows."

The clue is in verses 14 and 32,33. The gospel has yet to have been preached in the whole world. The other two verses talk about the state of Israel.

Watch the events that have already happened, and those yet to come. Israel is the key to world future.
