There are different reasons for suicide. ONe may be a call for help, help with certain parts of living that the person has trouble dealing with (such as abusive parents for an example). Let her know that she is loved and that death is not an escape. Let her know that you are there to help her deal with whatever is bothering her. There are an amazing number of resources such as help phones, support groups, interventions etc. Have her enter a no-suicide contract with you (the therapist will also do this). Make her promise not to commit suicide as long as you and her are pursuing options for help. If the problem is something she feel she cannot escape (home family etc.) the therapist can help her make plans and strategise

Good luck!

If you believe your friend is serious, please talk to her again. Let her know that you care and will be there for her. Try to get some help for her.

By the way, the Tylenol will not kill her right away. What it could do is destroy her kidneys or liver and she will be very ill.

Are her parents that bad, or can you suggest that she talk to them? How about another adult who will listen to her.

Good luck to you and thank you for being such a good friend.

Get help right away for her or if it is really you who is struggling get help. Call the closest emergency room and
ask for a mental health hotline. Contrary to one of the other answers tylenol can be very dangerous in large amounts. We all are connected in this world and it would be a tragedy to lose someone in such a sad way.

You must tell her parents. You have to. How would you feel if you didn't? Failing that get her to ring The Samaritans UK or another suicide crisis line.

One thing you can't do is ignore this.

Best wishes

If she is TELLING you that she PLANS on doing it, it is YOUR place to take action. Be thankful she didn't just DO it.
As people have said, get in touch w / her guardians. And be a friend. Listen and don't critizie... Maybe she needs that.
